I received the sad news that a good friend lost his mother on Mon­day. I can’t say that I know exactly how my friend feels, because we all have dif­fer­ent rela­tion­ships with our par­ents, but los­ing your mother is par­tic­u­larly tough. As I am get­ting ready to head to the funeral, this time­less song by the Intrud­ers was cir­cling through my head.

I wish peace and con­tent­ment to my boy and his fam­ily. I feel for his daugh­ter, who turns five this year. It’s tough los­ing a lov­ing grand­par­ent, too. The same wish goes to a num­ber of very dear friends, who will likely read this post and shed a tear for their late moth­ers. Always know that I love you guys, and I’m always here for you.
