One too many force closes, random restarts, and screen freezes, led me to completely snap on my Droid X tonight.
In one swift and decisive action, I destroyed my Droid X. Well, destroyed is not quite accurate. In spite of a terribly cracked screen, the phone still works. Nevertheless, it’s dead to me. I felt bad for not controlling my [mounting] frustration. That sorrow, however, lasted for about 12 whole seconds, but I’m over it…and the Droid X.

Clearly, I wouldn’t recommend that you smash your smartphone, screen down, into a quartz countertop; but I wouldn’t judge you if you did. I have no idea what I am going to do about replacing my phone. For the time being, I am going to port my number to an old Blackberry that I have in the house.
What about an Apple iPhone 4s, my friend?
If I go the iPhone route, Dotch, I’ll wait for the iPhone 5. At least that gives me about six months, or so, to save some coin. Now, if I come across someone willing to get off an iPhone 4 for a good price, I just might add that to my line until the fall. Know anyone?
Gotta say, I love my Samsung Nexus. I think as Android phones go, Samsung is the top of the line. Just saying.
Thanks Hassan. Do you have the Nexus S or the Galaxy Nexus? Either one seems to be good from what I’ve heard and seen. I wish the materials were a little better on the Nexus S, though. I just got some hands-on time with the Galaxy Nexus last week, and I’m impressed. I admit that I’ve become a little jaded, and may be a little hard on Android right now.
[…] full circle. Either way, after [forcefully] introducing my malfunctioning Droid X into my quartz countertop, I had to move on to replacement phone until I make up my mind about what will be my next major […]
You are my HERO! I tried to kill my X…I really did! I threw it against the wall…it survived. I whacked it against my desk…still in one piece. Bought a gun with the express intent of blowing that mo-fo away.…but in the end I didn’t kill it. I sold it to some dude for $80. I kinda wish I would have shot a hole in it but the cash did come in handy.
Happy owner of a Rezound now…I hope it does not torment me as the X did!!
Cheers my friend!!
Too funny. It’s amazing how these devices can win our hearts, but also set our souls on fire when they don’t work properly. Best of luck with the Rezound.
