The legendary Chuck Brown passed away today. He was battling sepsis and pneumonia. When I first came to DC in 1984, Go Go was a foreign, and a bit of a curious, music genre to me, but it was hard to resist the hard-hitting percussion. As I started to learn more about Go Go, one name that came up quickly and often was Chuck Brown. The amazing thing about Chuck Brown is that he continued to be relevant for decades. I never listen to the radio, but I just might tune over the next couple of days for the tributes to Chuck “The Goodfather of Go Go” Brown.
