So often people want, or demand, change — be it in our lives, in others, in the world. Unfortunately, a good number of people — and I include myself in that group — merely want change, but make no effort to change ourselves. As Gandhi so eloquently stated,
Be the change that you want to see in the world.
Instead of looking elsewhere for change, I have really made an effort to look at what changes I need to make. Before blaming others, I have tried to look within first to see/feel why I am having a reaction. Most often, it’s not really the person or event that is the burr in my saddle. It’s me, or something in my past that I have yet to resolve. To truly experience change, I need to change and evolve. Otherwise, I will most assuredly find myself going through the same annoyances and irritants over and over.
Life is not static. Expecting change while sitting still is resigning to no change at all.
Change requires change.
I like this! I’m sharing it, okay?
