about me
matthew d. lyons
I have always been in love with art, in it’s many forms, since I was a kid. My artistic voice, for most of my life, has been expressed through drawing. However, in 2004 I picked up my first film SLR. What began as a cathartic hobby, photography has become my passion, and something I would like to call my profession and career.
I am especially grateful for the encouragement and support offered by my wife, family, and friends to pursue my dream. Additionally, I have been overwhelmed by the support and warm welcome to the field by other photographers.
A bit of a slow convert, I began shooting with digital SLRs in late 2007. While I initially resisted digital because of tug about heavy manipulation of images, I have have fully embraced shooting in digital and post-processing.
I shoot a lot of macros (random objects, flowers, insects…just about anything), as well as landscapes and food. I am beginning to do more work with portraits.
I welcome you to take a look at my images on my site and Flickr. If something strikes you, please drop me a note or connect with me on Twitter, or Facebook.
